I think I remember The Giant Jam Sandwich from my childhood! I found this blog a few weeks ago, and I just LOVE it! Are you familiar with Seven Silly Eaters by Mary Ann Hoberman? It was published in 2000, so it's not vintage yet, but I think it's the most adorable food-themed children's book ever. The illustrations are top-notch.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tren! No, I'm not familiar with that book, but I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI had to comment on the Jolly Roger Bradfield book. I have his "Giants Come In Different Sizes" and it was always one of my favorites as a child and my own children love it, now. I have never heard of any of his other work, but recognized his illustrative style in "Pickle Chiffon Pie" right away. Now I'm going to be on the lookout.
