The Little Island Illustrated by Leonard Weisgard

Leonard Joseph Weisgard (1916-2000) was an American author and illustrator of more than 200 children's books. He is well known for his collaborations with author Margaret Wise Brown.  Weisgard's recognizable illustration style has great appeal. Weisgard was awarded the Caldecott for his illustrations for The Little Island by Margaret Wise Brown. The Little Island uses the author name of Golden MacDonald, but I believe this was one of Brown's pseudo names. Leonard Weisgard illustrated so many books, I am listing books he illustrated from 1965 on. The websites for Weisgard and Brown are very nice, I would encourage you to take a look at them.
