Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass

Most of us when we think of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, think of the illustrations done by John Tenniel. These illustrations are among the most famous literary illustrations ever made.

There have been many illustrators over the years who have created their own illustrative version of Alice in Wonderland. Here are a few different  "Alice's" including the original.

John Tenniel's Alice

Arthur Rackham's Alice

Alice by Barry Moser

Laszlo Matulay's version of Alice

Alice by Marjorie Torrey

Margarita Prachaticka's Creation of Alice

  1. ...thats always the problem with the tenniel illustrations: nobody will ever reach that wonderfull work. its a absolutely, unstopable, unreachable classic. thats, how alice and the wonderland were looking like! the only illustrations i like, were the one carrol did by himself.

  2. With a beloved classic like Alice and Wonderland, there is such a strong association with the original illustrations. It's pretty much impossible to
out do it. I enjoy looking at other illustrator's interpretations and collect different versions by different illustrators.
