What grabs your attention when looking for books? Color - typography - images - a type of artwork - author or illustrator - a certain feel to it? Of course all those things and more go into book design. Usually the first thing we see is the book cover/book jacket. It's our first impression and gives us a taste for what's inside. Good book cover design makes us want to look inside.
Here are several vintage children's books that I think have well designed covers. What do you think? Which ones do you like? Is there one that you would like to see more of? (wink-wink, nudge-nudge, it could be the next post.) Don't forget to click on the pics for a larger view.
